Thanksgiving and Other Things – Final Words

I would like to suggest that those of you who are spiritual, want to raise your vibration, and who do not live in the USA either adopt the Thanksgiving celebration or choose another day so that you also can take the opportunity to let go of your issues to do with anyone who has upset you and to thank the Universe for your blessings – because we all have them.

I will never forget my first husband’s words when I had walked 5 miles to work and 5 miles back to earn $7.50AUD in 1988. I was so depressed at only earning that amount in the coffee shop I did readings in. On my arrival home and moaning about my fate, he said, “Well it is a loaf of bread, a bag of potatoes, a carton of milk, and an uncooked chicken that you did not have the money for, but you do now.” I felt so terrible because that $7.50 did, at that time, provide those items. I was indeed blessed, but could not see it. For every experience I have gone through which could be termed negative, there has been a positive outcome either in learning lessons, experiences, or letting something go. Whenever I find myself bemoaning my lot these days I remember those words.

My mother use to say when I bemoaned my fate, “Well at least you are not disabled or deaf or blind.” Indeed, I was not, and it would always make me bless my life. Forgiveness and thankfulness are two of the most important things to deal with on a spiritual aspirant’s path. There is nothing more needed than to practice them. You cannot move forward until you begin their practice and then to continue practicing them. It took me until two years ago to learn that lesson and to finally let go of everything I had in my life that was holding me back. Look upon your enemies as being your very blessed friends, because they are once you return home to Spirit. It is just sad that we will not see that until we do go home!

What Do I Do? – Continued

Just imagine if there were no suspicion or judgment of another, and if everyone knew why they felt the way they did about other people. We cannot have this, however, because not many people understand the energy of metaphysics and the why, and wherefore of these situations. We can only know this when we raise our vibration (or level of consciousness), but unless we can understand the basis of metaphysics and the why, how and what, we cannot move forward. So much energy has been given to becoming spiritual, and I must admit that at one time I was as guilty of this as others.

In the beginning, my idea of being spiritual was about being holy and – in a way – pious, sitting in the lotus position and chanting “Om.” Being a vegetarian and giving away the things I enjoyed. In fact being spiritual is just about being true to your self, accepting your own faults, and trying if possible to correct them. Not blaming anyone for your own mistakes, realizing that we are the creators of our own reality, and being fair to everyone – animals included – whether we feel they have done us wrong or not. It is about forgiveness, understanding, compassion and, more than anything, being at peace in our own silence and removing our emotional body so that we can see true meaning of life through our Higher Self. Our Self is always trying to divert us from our true purpose and life lessons. It is the Self which (in fear) creates the suspicion of others, bringing up past-life memories and, of course, always bringing up the emotions so that we become fearful of moving forward to our true destiny. How do I know this? I was there once where all these things happened. It has taken me years of working at letting go of all of that, and boy, do I feel better for it!

Thanksgiving – Continued

I am very lucky my teacher, Maitreya, does not let me get away with anything, and he will bring into my life those I need to show me what I need to learn. Neither will he let me run away. As I sit down for my dinner this Thanksgiving, I will not only have a wonderful dinner with friends, but I will also thank those who have helped me this year to grow and evolve through being honest with me. My Self, of course, does not like it, but my Higher Self is so grateful for it.

Perhaps you would like to do the same? It takes, once again, a very special person to accept criticism, never mind speak it. You know, if we all took criticism with a pinch of salt and not as an offence to our being – never mind our Self – the world would be a much better place. We are all allowed to speak our truth quietly and clearly, but do we? Usually we do not and bottle it all up inside of us. Then it becomes dis-ease and eventually disease. Nobody likes upsetting anyone, but sometimes we ourselves cannot see what we are doing. What is worse is the stubbornness we (who have been criticized ourselves) exhibit in not forgiving or allowing forgiveness. I do know that, if more of us did not take offense at what others say, we would have a more peaceful world.
