Last fall, when you came to Ft. Collins, Colorado, I attended your workshop and had a private reading. You have truly changed my life for the better! In my reading you suggested that I start my own business in transpersonal hypnotherapy. I made kind of a slow start, but since then I have taken a course on past life regression and found a school so I can get my certification in hypnotherapy. I am delighted to have this opportunity to share with you some of my experiences in studying with Margaret McElroy.

I discovered the Maitreya center back in 2007, and learned of Margaret there. As soon as she offered a course in Seattle, I was there! I have since attended many more, and all have been wonderful beyond description. Margaret mixes incredible humor, with a very down to earth way of teaching, that even I could understand! And that’s saying a lot! I have maybe one left brain cell ?

She is so amazing to be around …..I never want the courses to end! , and always have such a good time, that I forget how much I’m learning ! school always seemed very boring to me,and most of what I heard went in one ear, and out the other!

In the interest of brevity, (because I could go on and on forever about how wonderful Margaret is!)I must share my personal experience while working one on one with Margaret. Margaret literally saved my life. She is SO tuned into spirit, that (as insignificant as I felt I was at that time), she out of the blue, sent me an e-mail. I didn’t even expect her to remember who I was! As I had only taken one class from her before, and there were lots of other students in the class! In her e-mail, Margaret told me that my face had come into her mind very sort of urgently , and that spirit had told her I was in some sort of trouble, and to please help me….I was absolutely blown away. The month before I received her e-mail, I had been arrested for driving drunk. I was terrified of going to Jail, but at the same time SO grateful I hadn’t hurt anyone. I had been battling a serious addiction to alcohol for almost 30 years, and I was at the point at which, even in the light of this very serious legal issue, I just couldn’t stop drinking. I didn’t want to be here, and just thought that the world be off if I were dead. I was hopeless, and oh so mentally ill..

The insanity which weaves its way into an alcoholic’s mind, is truly baffling. Anyway, Margaret hadn’t had the time in her busy schedule, travels, e.t.c. To have done any one on one teaching for quite some time, but made time to offer me her help. I could be her private student over the course of about three months. Again mind you, I was at the lowest point in my life when this opportunity presented itself to me. The synchronicity of events again, blew my mind. The timing was perfect. I had the tuition money with ease, and exactly three months before my case went to trial, which meant I could still drive. Blessings or what? I had to pinch myself that this gift was real. Margaret ,willing to work with a peon like me? I learned from her to separate my higher self, the real one, from the self, (self,) the “evil stepchild of the mind” as I like to call it. I always thought I knew what the “ego” was, and had heard it described before, but just didn’t get it1 Every session I had with Margaret was fascinating and each one different. She taught me about my Natal chart, and how all of that in essence provides me a road map so to speak, for my life. . She taught me invaluable life ,and coping skills in a ways that appealed to my sensibilities like no human being had ever been able. Among all the other things I love and admire about Margaret, I just appreciated so much her willingness to share her own struggles with me. She has walked through so much on her journey. This had the very comforting effect of making me feel an equal instead of the disgusting human being I felt I was then. Margaret always supported me, believed in my capabilities, and most importantly, really got it into my thick head, that we human beings have the gift or maybe curse of free will, i.e. Freedom to choose. For me, this meant that I could make the choice to save my life, quit drinking, and go on to have an amazing life, or I could choose to keep drinking, and live with all of the dire consequences which go hand in hand with that choice . I had previously never wanted, or understood responsibility for myself and my choices in life. I felt that I was just the poor victim an awful addiction.

As a result of the knowledge I acquired while working with Margaret, I eventually under took the necessary medical detox from alcohol, and have not had a drink now in many months. I had tried to stop so many times, and failed miserable, because it was not really MY conscious decision. Armed with my new knowledge and sense of self worth, quitting the drinking has been far less painful than anyone could’ve convinced me it would be. My life has completely turned around, and I can honestly say, that most days, I love life , and can’t believe how far I have come. I now look forward to a wonderful and exciting future serving spirit!

I will be eternally grateful to Margaret for what she has done for me. She would be the first one to say that it wasn’t her, that it was spirit working through her. Well, spirit chose Margaret, and that was an impeccable choice.

Taking Margaret’s classes has been the best gift I have ever given myself. I hope you all are so fortunate.
