It never ceases to amaze me how many times we are tested to see if we have learned not to give energy to anything. I was recently severely tested when I had a new kitchen installed. Although I have nothing in my astrology to indicate kitchen problems, I always seem to have them. I wish I could blame it on Alan, but I cannot because my kitchen problems began long before he came into my life.
The first home I ever owned had a very small kitchen; the next house had a huge one. Then I lost that house in the recession and for a while had to have rented houses with kitchens. My next owned house had no kitchen; we bought it that way hoping we could install it. The people we bought it from were fisherman and had made a big kitchen outside their home in a separate building for their fish, and of course, used that as their personal kitchen. In the kitchen there was just a sink and a small counter. We bought what we termed a hutch, a small cupboard with a space to prepare food. It had cupboards and a glass top where we could put crockery. I had a convection microwave, an electric hot plate, and a slow cooker which was also a deep fryer.
From the day we moved in, the dream of the proper kitchen being installed was put on hold. We had very little money. With two school children and only one wage coming in, there was barely enough to live on, so the kitchen dream stayed that – a dream – for five years. I managed to function, kitchen wise, with the small appliances and microwave for five full years. Then, when we decided to move, my ex-husband and I finally had the kitchen installed. We had to borrow money to do it, but finally I had my dream kitchen, except I only got to enjoy it for a few weeks before the house was sold.
