I have mentioned many times on the radio that if I had known what I was going to go through working for Spirit I would not have opened the door. However it is not true, not if I want to be true to myself. My Self would love to have done that, but my Higher Self was leading me all of the way. I never gave up – unlike some around me who did. Some of them reached a very high level of enlightenment but just could not go any further and totally surrender.
The one thing about Alan, my husband, is that he has totally surrendered. He, like us all, tried to fight in the beginning and still occasionally spars with Maitreya. Oh, yes! I am sure Maitreya enjoys it, but Alan has totally surrendered to the guidance and direction and because of that has become very intuitive himself. When I told him I felt we needed to stay because something was going to happen connected to Los Angeles, he listened and allowed it to happen, and it did. It was also the door we needed to open to take Maitreya’s message further.
True spiritual work is about recognizing what is ego and what is not. There is such glamour attached to spiritual work, yet it could not be further from the truth. One is, first of all, tested to see if one has the backbone and strength to cope with doing the work. Then there are the karmic debts one has to repay. One also has to learn that not everyone is open to spiritual development and some people can get very nasty about it. Learning to cope with these people is another hard lesson Spirit teaches one.
